DIVERSITY MANAGEMENT AND CONSULTING
EVALUATION AND END OF TRAINING REPORT
Unfortunately, we have come to the end of our free coaching session which lasted about a month. The training was themed Coaching a Girl to Thrive in Business.
Personally, I got into business with nothing else but my passion for teaching. All I knew was how to teach languages. No insight into business administration and even less management. DMC picked us up from scratch and set us on the right track.
WAS THIS TRAINING HELPFUL?
Oh, yes! Definitely! I learnt so much.
Firstly, I learnt how to actually put my thoughts on paper and how to get organized by looking at the real components of a business.
I have also been able to come up with my business model canvas which has helped identify so many loopholes in my business. I am now able to clearly map out the different components of my business, define their importance and identify problem areas. It doesn’t end there.
One of the most important things I learnt is not to only identify problems but also to identify solutions. It is not enough to identify a problem; we should also be able to come up with a solution. Ever since the mentoring started, my business has grown in leaps and bounds, at least on paper. I have a clear idea of things that went wrong and how to fix them.
The training was also very unique in the sense that it was open, yet private. We didn’t really get down to the smallest details of our businesses but we were able to share and learn from our mentor. This took away any awkwardness we may have felt.
I also learnt do draw and implement a strategic operations plan. This gave very visible results as I was able to have a full classroom for the first time since the opening of my business. This is my first recorded success.
I now know business terms, not only that, but also how to put them in action and I know for a fact that my business will only get bigger and better from this coaching.
I head out every day, with my to-do list ready and that keeps me focused and organized.
I have no recommendations to make in terms of improving the mentoring I received. Our mentor was and still is very available, she responds to mails and WhatsApp messages really quickly and explains things we do not understand with a lot of patience and insight.
One recommendation!
Really, this mentoring should not end here.
It was really awesome.
Thank you, DMC,
